Hutans is a card draft and tile placement game where players grow a tropical rainforest and create habitats for various animals. Players take turns drafting cards from a shared market to improve their rainforest. They then place flowers, as indicated on the cards, onto their own boards, which are divided into several areas with grid patterns. Flowers must be placed adjacent to or stacked on existing flowers to form continuous clusters. Filling an area with flowers of the same color completes the area, earning points at the end of the game. Partially completed areas or areas with mixed flower colors result in negative points, so careful card selection and flower placement are essential. When flowers of the same color are stacked, a tree is placed instead of flowers, which also scores points. If all grid spaces are filled with flowers of the same color and trees are placed, it becomes a "Complete Habitat," attracting animals of the corresponding color and fostering a rich rainforest.

After 9 rounds, the player with the highest score wins. The scoring conditions are quite complex, requiring strategic planning despite the simple system. The game offers a family-friendly version with simplified conditions, an advanced version introducing "Ecosystem Cards" for additional scoring, solo play rules, and various achievement challenges, providing diverse gameplay and high replay value. The game features a colorful and attractive design.
