However, its high absorption sometimes causes the back to get stained, which can be disappointing after receiving a precious goshuin. SOWA LABO has solved this issue by developing a special processing technique that prevents ink from bleeding through the back of the washi. The appearance remains the same, and the writing experience does not change, allowing for safe use on both sides. However, since the washi is laminated, it may feel a bit stiff. Additionally, due to the lamination, it cannot be used for secondary processing like mounting or framing after the pilgrimage.
