It takes part in many of its processes - from supporting protein metabolism to contributing to the proper functioning of the nervous system. It has properties that positively affect psychological functions by providing the body with adequate amounts of pyridoxine. Vitamin B6 helps to maintain proper energy metabolism, protein and glycogen metabolism, which is important for the work of muscles. In addition, it supports the optimal production of red blood cells and helps maintain the proper metabolism of homocysteine[1]. Our supplement contains vitamin B6 in the active form of the pyridoxal 5'phosphate (P-5-P). What does it mean? Pyridoxal 5'phosphate is the active form of vitamin B6, so in this form the body uses vitamin B6 as a coenzyme in many important biochemical reactions. Pyridoxine, on the other hand, is a precursor of vitamin B6, which must first undergo a series of reactions in the liver and intestines to the phosphorylated form (P-5-P)[2].
