[USED] KING KONG / BIG BANG / -ex SLINT

Formed in 1989, this little-known band from Louisville, Kentucky, is comprised of members of Slint and its predecessor, the early Squirrelbait.

From their initial jam-band style, they've become more experimental, perhaps even overly playful, with a truly sluggish, spacey sound that's not even close to lo-fi, featuring heavy reverb (or maybe dub?).

Their 2002 sixth album, with tracks like "Planet Kong On The Radar Screen" reminiscent of Girls Against Boys, "We Are The People Of Kong" featuring female vocals, and the refreshing "Deep Blue Sky," offers glimpses of new innovation.
