The [MILE/Mairu] series 2-way tote bag is a lightweight rendition of work items often made with cotton canvas, finished with nylon cotton twill material. Inspired by American tool bags and work aprons from the 1940s and 50s, the design creates a contrast between the impression of work items and the material. The main material features a military-like sheen. A water-soluble bonding technique is used to wash the product after sewing, creating a beautiful wave and wrinkle texture. In particular, puckering that occurs in areas with triple stitching is a design highlight, reminiscent of vintage workwear.

The main room is a practical size that accommodates A4 paper. It’s suitable for everyday use and matches adult casual styles. This model is inspired by coal bags used to carry coal and tool bags used to carry tools, and its silhouette and storage capacity evoke the feeling of work items. The interior is equipped with three pockets for easy item management, allowing for neat and organized storage. The handle is designed to be short to prioritize hand-carrying style.
