Detective: City of Angels

The crime game "Detective: City of Angels" is set in the dark and brutal world of 1940s Los Angeles. Most players will take on the role of LAPD homicide detectives. Cops hungry for recognition, willing to do anything to close a case, even if it means intimidating suspects, concealing evidence, or bribing snitches. One player will take on the role of the Conniver, whose primary goal is to manipulate facts, plant false leads, and sometimes persuade suspects to lie. While searching Los Angeles, tenacious investigators will uncover new evidence and fresh leads, immersing themselves in the captivating history of the City of Angels.The game features nine intricately constructed crime puzzles, with varying levels of difficulty (Rookie, Old Hand, Professional). The Detectives and the Conniver use books with detailed case descriptions, each with its own unique path to resolution. Thanks to the adaptable answer card system, players feel like they're actually interrogating suspects. Detectives can question the answers, but this carries a significant risk: if they get it wrong, the Swindler will gain an advantage over them, making it much more difficult for them to solve the case."Detective" has various game modes: the classic competitive mode (3-5 players) and alternatives: Investigator (for a single detective or several detectives in cooperation) and one-on-one (1-5 players).The game's creator, Evan Derick, was inspired by classic noir films such as "The Big Sleep," the works of James Ellroy, and the video game "L.A. Noir."
