This is kabusecha (covered tea), which is grown in the tea fields covered with shade netting to block out strong sunlight for several days before the new buds are picked at the time of the new tea harvest. Shading the fields increases the amount of chlorophyll in the tea leaves, giving them a deep green color. It has a unique flavor, high in the umami component theanine, and a mellow, rich taste with little astringency. Tea grown under cover has a refined aroma similar to gyokuro.
