It is a high silica compound that reduces rolling resistance and also improves wet grip.. Compared to the previous 3C MaxxSpeed, the new compound has approximately 25% less rolling resistance under laboratory conditions (when using the same tread pattern, design and tire pressure). In real-world conditions, our testing shows that the new compound can save up to a minute over a 90-minute race. EXO: - EXO is a cut and abrasion resistant material added to the sidewalls of many Maxxis mountain bike and gravel tires.. This tightly woven fabric is lightweight and highly flexible, ensuring that the tire's performance remains consistent.. Choose EXO Protection for extra durability for gravel, cross-country and light off-road riding. tubeless ready: - Tubeless ready tyres offer the rider many benefits: the ability to drive with lower air pressure, which improves traction; lower rolling resistance compared to tube type tires; and less chance of puncture due to the absence of a tube. Tubeless ready tyres are identified by the letters "TR" on the sidewall. Tubeless ready tires must be mounted on tubeless compatible wheels and require the use of liquid sealant to maintain pressure.. Liquid sealants have the added benefit of sealing small punctures.. Be sure to check the sealant regularly and renew it as needed as it dries out over time. Wide Trail XC (WT XC): - Maxxis recommends using 2.40″ Wide Trail XC tires on 30mm inner rims. The tyres are compatible with rims up to 25mm wide, but we do not recommend exceeding 30mm.
