The "bentwood" technique used by Kato Woodworking involves shaping two sheets of plywood by gluing them together in a circular form. We have deliberately begun manufacturing this rare technique, which is disappearing in Japan, since November 2008. When viewed from the front, the frame reveals a layered appearance, while the exterior displays the beautiful, understated grain of Shina wood. [Each Clock is Carefully Handcrafted] Each clock is meticulously handcrafted by a woodworker, using wood with unique grain patterns. The resulting clock is a one-of-a-kind timepiece, made just for you. Because a clock is an item that accompanies you throughout your life, we want to create something special for each and every customer who holds it in their hands. With such dedication and passion, we continue to make watches in our small factory in Gujo Hachiman today.
